Mad Hatter

'Tis the first day of Spring, and wonderland beckons -post steampunk, and into electronic-punk?  Or cyber-punk?

Bobble-head seems a bit of a greaser.   What does Alice think about him?
Nope, neither look very impressed with each other.
Hatters went mad from poisoning, but this one should have had a long and productive life ahead of him:
But it's time to put some colour to him.  He has retained his lead-free status, but  zombifaction attacked.  His crepuscular disease has erupted out of a jar of Andy Skinner's lava paste.

It's even worse on his back, and it looks like he also had Alice's bug growing under his necktie.:
All in all, he suffered in life, and resurrection has been no kinder to him. Wonder what his wig was made from.... it and his hat seem to have survived best.

May the rest of us live long and prosper!
Meantime, we're still providing a forum for you to post your dark, weird creArtions.  WITH the incentive (?) of a prize every 20 entries.  Look right.

Alice to the power of 2

In the previous post, I introduced you to a Zombie Alice.  Since then, she has tried the Magic Potion.
Through the wonders of modern technology, we can show how she was and is now:

Definitely shrunk, more zombied than ever, and no longer able to stand unsupported.

Frankly, I'm surprised Lewis Caroll could keep writing past this point!

We are still playing no the dark side, are you?  Share your dark or weird creArtions on the right - Evil Froggie has bribes rewards after each 20 entries...

Alice? Alice? Who the *** is Alice

There's a corrupted version of the song, so beloved of drunken parties (assuming you're old enough, if not, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsrfovOPcjk  )
I'm still slowly working through Michael deMeng's on-line class making Alice characters and a Wonderland Theatre.  The Card Guards have already put in an appearance here.  I spent a happy Easter weekend with a friend raiding my Shed, and making Alices together.  Found some nodding figures, one of which got cannibalised for Alice so she can keep on nodding in agreement with the Red Queen - it's a Safety Feature :)
Somehow, she turned into a Zombie Alice.  Here she is, before she found the "Drink Me" potion:
Doesn't it look like she's also in a straitjacket???  Another of Asylum Anne's "therapies" makes use of yarn on a cone, so Alice's skirt is part of a cone.
Wonderful stitching to hold her brains in!  More therapy put to good use haha.

 But perhaps we should worry about what's hatching out the back of her spine?
Come back later this month to see how she looks after drinking "that" potion!

Meantime, Asylum Anne is worried about her teamies... not a peep out of them for too long.  Have the wintry snowy blasts she is getting spread as far as Finland, and even California???  Are they snowed in with their snow tyres stuck in storage thinking it's summer?  what a wonderland we live in.

Look right, to see why Evil Froggy is gasping... for... just... one... more... entry in our challenge, so he can slip something special in the mail for you!
Update: and all of a sudden you've had enough aircon for your brain to start creArting, and we're WELL past the number of entries for the next giveaway.

When rubber balloons haven't been invented...

In Jane Austen's day, there were no balloons, so what could one fly?  Plenty of skulls around... so let's take our protest of over a week of frosts to the skies with one - we're freezing to death after all!
All stamps are from Blank Page Muse.  I sprinkled embossing powders over Andy Skinner's Lava Paste for both the clouds (Peppered chantilly enamel) and frosts (Fractured Ice)  for some subtle colouring, before heating it up.  And because it's such a colourful "balloon, here's what it looks like in rubber:

We are sooo close to rewarding one of you with some goodies - 2 more dark and weird show'n tell on the column to the right......>

Altered playing cards

I found a deck of playing cards that
are the size of ATC cards.
Had to get the deck - of course.

And then I swap one of my ATC's
and got these fabulous stickers
with the brilliant ATC card.

Just knew I need to make a mess, :)

This is my fav card out of 4 I made

My daughter liked this one.

Here are all four

Let us see what you have been making this summer!
Looks like froggy there----->
needs just few more links and these
goodies are of to someone among entries 21-40.

Blood at the Opera and the music on...

What happens when you hit that Top D note?

Escaping the Asylum at the start of winter was so imperative, Anne was even willing to suffer a 10-hour then 13-hour flight to attend 2 days of Andy Skinner workshops at Lets Be Creative in Rogate - about an hour's drive south of Heathrow airport.  Except I was driving from the Fens, and the GPS decided to take me back into London instead of taking the M25 - adding 2 hours to that drive.  So my own singing could have been a little sour by the time I got there.  But Lovely Brigitte had organised a "billet" with, would you believe it, another kiwi!!!  Thank you Lois for the comfy bed, good company, I hope you still have some pineapple lumps left :)
Below is the class we did on day 2, with plenty of Andy's new product, lava paste, in use.  I didn't dare stay to the end of the class in case of holdups somewhere along the motorways, but as it turns out the baggage queue at Heathrow was "short-staffed"  - would you believe once we barged through the queue to get our boarding passes, we then spent almost 4 hours in the queue trying to hand over our baggage, with barely time to get some nibbles before the boarding call came.

Such a sweet image, but of course once I got home to finish it off, there had to be blood and destruction - wine-glass-shattering music can have that effect, even if they are plastic, from Silver Crow Creations
So why on earth didn't I grab another flight across the channel to visit Sari while I was "in the area"???
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ohh, why indeed!!!??? That would have been totally, absolutely brilliant!
Anne would have been very welcome to my humble hut.
So Anne made a Opera art piece, and the culture off arts
continues with music:
Sentiment from Visible Image stamp set and the skull
from La Scraposphére's range.
So what has the summer heat made you create?
Man cries his grief
I saw this poem, made by Lauri Pohjanpää,
poem is called "Metsän puhelu"
 (Forest Talk says the Google translator)
Very touching poem and I used part of it
for my ATCoins with Gecko Galz images.
Translation (using Google) is about this:
Old bird that have seen the world,
slowly sang from it's branch:
Be quiet, silence, when a man cries,
man cries his  grief,
they have been bad to him.
Translation is far from perfect but maybe you'll
get the idea...
It looks like after 7 more entries is time to mail
some goodies:
Calamity upon Calamity.
Measles rampant world-wide, weather becoming far more erratic, polar bears (and other species) heading for extinction, Space Junk pollution above our skies...Oh, and Winter is heading my way! How can so much fit onto one little ATC coin???
P.S. Even the company that created these stamps - Third Coast/Stone Stamps - is extinct already!
So winter is coming to Anne's and summer for me
- all thought the temperature might be nearly the same.
I was playing with the Indigo Blue Batty stamp
and watercolors, also using The Blank Page Muse stamps: here and here.
At the moment, it looks like our froggy (there ->>>)
 need only nine more
entries and then is time for a prize:
How cool is that? So do link up, we love to see your art.
Ironmongery
Sooooo, I was going through all the lovely
pits and pieces I've got with the ATC swaps,
and game across these wicked lady images.
And then I remembered the theme in Sisterhood of Snarky
and thought that these ladies could work with that.
I made 2 ATC
Paper is from my stash - printed it ages ago.
Die cut and the sentiments are from
Simon Says "Salty Ladies" -stamp set.
I hope these go with the theme
Don't forget to pack a toothbrush!
As hinted on 1 May, Asylum Anne is slipping the straitjacket to go Junqueing in Ancestral Lands.  All the advice is to pack toiletries in your hand luggage (stewardesses presumably don't like all that bad breath after 13 hours on a plane eating airline food???)
So as not to lose the brush, I've made a dinky stand to sit on the airline tray:
That'a a nicely balanced, sturdy holder, sure to stay upright through any turbulence.
(Badminton shuttlecock, encrusted with granular gel-scungy plaque)
The economy bristles have been upgraded to Business, Serious Business, with grape vine tendrils squeezed into the airline wines, then becoming excellent floss.  The feathers - well, what better than having a wing-assisted flight?
As a Devotee of Michael deMeng's teachings, in particular "When Good Brushes Go Bad" live class, I have added to the handle: the shiny green is where the toothpaste is coming out, the other unsmiling chappy knows something about your teeth that your dentist doesn't.
I've made sure this brush has soaked up plenty of Vitamin D before being strapped into a darkened flying box"
Whaddya think - will it earn me another Girl Scout badge at Hogwarts?
Don't forget, we have prizes... for YOUR dark create.  Every 20 entries triggers an occasion to choose someone to award! We are halfway to the next award
