Shake Your Booty

Freaked out by all that pinkness, chocolate and pierced hearts on Valentine Day,
not to mention all the chocolate coming up for Easter,
we're recovering with a tag and plenty of bones to rattle the (heart)beat out.

Over a shaving cream background, the dancing silhouettes are from A Stamp in the Hand
The winged skeleton and border are from Smeared Ink's Skelly Christmas.  The bird is part of a Lost Coast Designs stamp, and the arms from Bloobel (via joggles.com).  Strange how not all of these stamps are still available.  I guess their bones disintegrated faster than their rubber.

So Anne is dancing towards spring
... hmm since she is living "upside down"
she might be dancing towards Autumn.

We had our first winner this year,
congratulations to the Vivian yet again.
AND the great news is, that we have these
goodies ready to go for a next winner
as soon as 40 entries shows on our
froggy linky (at the right side of the blog) ->

You want a Valentine card as well???

OK, ok, rubber arm twisted.  Just because it's the last day of Leigh SB Design's My Dark Valentine hop.  You can have a card... AND an envelope!

A blank card made of kraft, sprinkled Paper Artsy Infusions and spritzed.  The card curled quickly, giving the 2-directional streaming

The inside I stamped the XXL Carabelle stamp, Steampunk Mechanique, and wrote a poem for it:
Valentine
When Cupid’s sharp arrow doth strike,
All thoughts of food are fled:
I am a sandwich short of a picnic,
A few noodles short of a chow mein!

In love and thus  blind.
No longer the brightest bulb in the box.
The lights are on, but I am not home:
Shipped but not delivered  - lost, so  lost for love.

Undelivered, Alack!  I am not the fastest ship in the fleet.
My heart  rends me a few keys short of a keyboard,
A few cogs short of the gear change
That would  bring together Toi et Moi

Cupid thou Nasty Cherub
I would change thine aim
But thou hast reft me of mine sanity,
Missing a few buttons on the remote,
A few keys short of a keyboard.

A few cogs short

In my heart.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And the front of the card:
The Cheery Lynn die, Hearts #2  has 3 different colours of embossing powder. The cogs were diecut from a juice carton, alcohol ink-treated.
Stencilgirl S271 Angel Circle, L157 city scape, Club 05-2017
Carabelle stamp set :Textes:  Zoom sur 1 souvenir.  Sorry I can't find it on their website, nor the one I bought it from.
As for the envelope... I hope it's got enough postage - that 20cent one better not be prophetic.
That Mocking bird that took out Poe last month is back, aiming at the cat???
Maybe there's more to it than that - an winged easter bunny with an egg-bomb?
Some love-sick boy getting his come-uppance?
 Zoom out, we want to see the whole thing to make our own minds up:
Can you see the postie daring to deliver this to anyone's letterbox???
Stencil Girl's Mixed Media Mail stencil's words pop up in serendipitous places, to comment.  A Silver Crow Creations rubber stamp simulates an Addressee.  Digi stamps include Delicious Doodles for the postage stamps (Cranial Caress and Samhain), Bloobel the Sick Boy and Kitteh, Ike's "Greece" is the building-courtyard scene.  Smeared Ink's Winged Grumpy and our hostess, Leigh SB Designs have the Oddleigh Mocking Bird, the egg, and the quote.
December, Santa, and Grumbacher
Merry Creepmas or Christmas or Happy Holidays from all of us at Dream in Darkness, where it is Halloween all the time!  To help us get our bad Santa on, we have Grumbacher back to sponsor us for December!  Yep, that means another chance to win some Grumbacher's products to play with so don't waste a merry minute start creating!
CT Nan had a run in with the Rocky Horror Picture Show and the Art Sherpa at the same time!  Nothing but good I mean wicked goodness could come from that meeting!
But some Grumbacher Acrylic paints and gesso did have a part in it!
Somebody seems to be considering what they want for a snack and it ain't Doritos so......I would sleep with those windows locked and stay out of dark streets if I were you to keep from being that little bit that hits the spot!
CT Anne ...
is suffering, badly.  She's not sure if she will ever recover from all that pink we inflicted on her!  For almost 2 weeks she has been coughing, coughing, coughing.  It totally wrecked her holiday, and she is dreading having to go back to work on Monday.  The doctor said "whooping cough", dispensed antibiotics and said the bugs would be "live" another 5 days.  YOU are safe, they're not e-bugs!!!!
 A 12"x12" paper, with added texture from Seth Apter stamps and stencils.  Digistamps: the sick boy is Bloobel and the closet monster (used twice) is a Rick St Denis
So please, from the bottom of my lungs, no more cute faces, no more pink, bring on Creepmas!!!
5 days later, update:  the nurse rang, it's not whooping cough!  No idea what, so beware!  It may be an e-bug after all, so girly stuff is AT YOUR PERIL!!!!
Grumbacher's fab oil paints to make a background.
Hmmm, looks like the Zombies are awake and after YOU!!!
We know when you've been naughty; we know when you've been nice!  So forget about Santa's list and enter the challenge so you don't get on OUR list which is oh so much worse!  That pesky Frog is wearing a Santa hat so you figure it out~
About Grannies sneaking in almost at the Last Minute.
Since I played with this month's sponsor Bloobel's "Sick Boy" she has had fun in facebook asking for inspiration.  That resulted in some new digis, some of which I won.  So our sick boy is now sick for luuuurrrrve - of Boom Box Granny  And I am making 3-hour trips each way to spend most weekends visiting the "aged parents": dad fell, broke a femur and can only be fixed with complete bed rest - no cast, no splints, certainly no surgery.  Packing mum up for a rest home involves packing her jewellery, and a selection from her wardrobe.  So whilst fussy-cutting and colouring these two characters, my mind was dwelling on the reality of granny-hood but I reckon this granny probably has a few condoms in her handbag as well.  I've exaggerated here, taken liberties: this granny also has age spots, strange teeth, varicose veins and please don't ask why her socks are yellow, or her witches britches are brownish - that comes with the granny territory apparently... eventually.... maybe... unless she has a great load of moli-pads (Depends).  Grannies get given morphine for their gammy hips - I reckon she's sharing it with her boyfriend here!
 So let the music play, and let us all dance on - age is only a number on the boombox playlist.
A Fear of Heights
Who would have thought it - a Trapeze Artist family has a scaredy-cat amongst them, with no head for heights.  The SHAME of it!!!  They make him go up every night, but after tonight the Ringmaster has had enough - too many in the audience complaining about the green @#!!*%**# stuff spewing out over them!  Bloobel's "Sick Boy" initially brought up ideas of crawling through the desert, dying of thirst, but the circus theme has been in my head for a few months now and keeps taking over (but NO monkeys here.
I matted an 8x8 Graphics 45 paper over a random 12x12 page.  Two kebab skewers and some gold & silver rope make the Tightrope this poor lad is supposed to walk 6 nights a week plus Saturday & Sunday matinees.  I've become a fan of Faber Castell's big brush Pitt pens, the white does a great job at ghosting the boy - caught in the bright lights of the circus like a possum on the road.  The audience is made up of members of Lost Coast Design's Doll Border.  I stamped Sun & Stars border (also Lost Coast) randomly in the tent's roof cavity to give it some "texture".  And outlined the tent roof with dresden scrap bling and mosaic mirror tiles
Just to gross you out, the season's pile of "puke" - going moldy too!  Some stuffing "painted" greenish, some 3D Lumiere adding to the reality of stuff dripping down.
Why not join the fun this month? Are you scared? Buwahahaha!
Happy New Year's and Welcome Back!
Notice anything different?  Oh yes!  We have been doing a bit of redecorating here at the old house and we are all inky, painty, and a right mess but so pleased with how it turned out!  We are putting a lot more focus on all things weird, odd, and downright mind blowing...but never, ever cute!  So to help us kick that off, the decorating spree!
This month we have two amazing sponsors and we are so happy to welcome them to our place!  First up, we have A & T Digital Designs Shop, home of the Emerald Fairies!
From A&T, Anita:
"Hey there I'm Anita artist/scrapbooker.
I've always been a big fan for as long as I've known.. I love to paint ,draw and play with paper."
Started wondering.... about those circusses and monkeys, where do they go for holidays?  And what if you were born into a troupe of acrobats, but had no head for heights?  Here's a sneak peek of their vacation,  (using  Mushy House )
 using " Mushy House " with Mischief Circus' " Holliwood Fire 1" and "Happy UnBirthday" with an image released from the British Library.  He seems to be an "Arseonist" spelling courtesy of CT Anne with a hidden meaning :) and the story of Poe's death is revealed at long last!  Look in the upstairs window!  Edgar Allan Poe (Teddy Bear series) comes from Butterside Down Stamps.
Another awesome sponsor, also new, the fabulous Bloobel Stamps!
The most original, odd, quirky digis brand new to the scene!
So now it is your turn, go shopping and come back to share your awesome makes with us! Evil Froggy is waiting...
