Get Ready for August and Our Awesome Sponsor Teri at Delicious Doodles

That's right! We have the amazingly fabulous Teri Sherman of Delicious Doodles sponsoring us next month(August) at Dream in Darkness!  We are all just having a deliciously dark time working with the great images she so graciously given us!  Teri very humbly gave us permission to tell you a bit about her (she would not toot her own horn! but you know us!  We are going to toot her horn for her and very loudly!)

Teri draws everything first by hand with paper, pens and pencils before digitizing the images for selling at her Etsy Shop "ArtiDoodles".  She sometimes makes her own cards using these images    ( I was lucky enough to have several of her handmade art!) and they can be seen on her ArtiCardz page via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/articardz'

She draws a mix of mainstream images with flowers, animals, scenery (check out her fab Scottish Castle!), etc. and as we also know, some darker, more Gothic designs for the "alternative" crafter!

Squeal!! Oh, that was us squealing, we couldn't help ourselves!

Thanks so much, Teri, for sponsoring us this month and offering our winner a lovely prize of your digi!  We look forward to sharing our makes with your images all month long and hope to do them justice as they are all so freaking amazing!

CT Anne's "Frankinella"

As usual, we gave you just a sneak peek at CT Anne's make with Frankinella an image by Ike's Art the we held a day long celebration with yesterday!  So without our words bogging you down, here is Anne's words to tell the story!

" A Midnight beach party perhaps, with everyone flying or hopping in to join Frankinella? And an awfully cheery prophylactic on the horizon promising to keep her happy. Though the barbed legend surely hints at a darker tale."

"Oh No!!!! She's a Princess Frankinella! And she's not happy about all these frogs jumping at her wanting to be kissed. But *sigh* they just can't help themselves, despite the warning in the skies."

SUPPLIES
Don't you just love shopping at suppliers who also offer freebies? Besides Frankinella from Ikes Art (THANK YOU IKE!), when I was pushing a trolley round Mischief Circus I stumbled over a hatching baby dragon set https://www.mischiefcircus.com/shop/product.php?productid=18716&cat=0&page=1
I have a metre-high stack of kiwiana scrapbook papers - used just one of them here.
Rubber stamps are from:

Wow! What a difference light makes to this situation!  The poor frogs...uh oh!  Has CT Anne been behind the Evil Froggy abduction of CT Nan???  She knows this will anger Evil Froggy so badly!  We fear we may never get poor old CT Nan back with us!  And to know now, that CT Anne must be involved! Oh the horror we are facing here at Dream in Darkness!  Who will be next?  CT Kim? CT Granne? I don't think CT Anne has to worry, do you?

We hate to beg but our only hope is for you to enter your most awesome projects as soon as possible!  What will happen if we are all gone?  CT Anne will run the asylum as dictator!  Oh how we are in a state of panic!  Hurry and help us defeat Evil Froggy and reverse the mind control over CT Anne!  Thank yo.................................................................................................................

"Frankinella" Celebration

As you know we are being sponsored by Ike's Art this month, and the lovely Ike gave a fabulous freebie at Ike's World Challenge blog last week named "Frankinella".  The teamies at Dream in Darkness absolutely loved her and wanted to give her a full day of celebration!  Leave Ike some love, too, this is a surprise for her!

After all, Frankinella is dressed up and ready to be seen!  So without delay here is our tribute to "Frankinella" or as we lovingly call her, Miss Frankie!

Another sneak peek!  Tune in tomorrow for all the details and full reveal!

" Doesn't she look pretty, a modern Botticelli's Venus, renamed "Frankinella" by Ikes Art, in honour of her tattoos. Or has she been stitched up by someone? Or split her sides laughing and had to be sewn up? And are those frog legs strewn about her? Why??"

A Little Postcard From a Lovelie from Ike's Art!

Well, I just found out that vampires also take vacations AND send postcards back to Mom!  Yes, I found this lying by the mail box....still trying to figure that one out and also sleeping with garlic by the bed! and thought you might like to see it!  The image I found by researching is by non other than our beloved Ike's Art!  She is found in the "Succubus Set of 5" an awesome set one of those must haves!  The background again researched is from Mischief Circus's Holliewood Studios kit "More Brains".  That is all the info I have as the address and info on the back had smeared due to the rain?  As I said, watching the daughter very carefully but then could the son have a "girl friend" who happens to be a vampire??  Very worried!  So soon we may not only be missing our dear CT who posted and Evil Froggy now has! holding until more entries come to him but if I go missing this postcard is evidence!  Here it is and make sure you memorize the details...just in case!

That face looks remotely familiar.....did I see it on a blog from an entry?!?  Oh well, the garlic stays, ugh! until this mystery is solved!  Now for the other mystery we have, Evil Froggy refuses to release our teamie until we get those entries in!  We tried to enter our own makes but he is no dumb frog!  He caught on and was very very angry!  Vampires, Evil Frogs....what is happening here?  We are afraid, very afraid!  Shh! What was that? The noises are getting closer!  Hurry! Slap that photo in a blog and visit Evil Froggy!
Kind of jittery but need to remind you to visit back on the 22nd this Wednesday, to see a fab surprise from Ike's Art!   Sorry but I must go now! Much too nervous!
Can't even do an evil laugh!
EEKK!!

You Have Been Waiting for This.....

Our Asylum Anne has been at work again this month!  We gave you part of the story on the 1st...evil we are!  But we have decided you have waited long enough so here it is with her fabulous story!

" For me, the July challenge was to incorporate a digistamp from Ike's Art I had chosen "Giger", a rather abstract shape with a skeleton, possibly owing something to Zombie-ness, and possibly, with those pipelines, hinting at steampunkery. I printed it onto acetate, and coloured with Spectrum Noir pens. Nothing was gelling for a while, until the "theme" came to mind: Police dragging evidence out of the sea: a long-lost, partly-decomposed diver, partly rotted, partly still in his/her diving suit. I've done a lot of overtly maritime pieces lately, and couldn’t throw it off completely. I've also been experimenting with subtle backgrounds, so using Distress Ink colour Iced Spruce onto the cream tag for the skull-bone background stamp was a start. Though I masked off the police box-helicopter, and where Giger would go first. It wouldn't be a tag without something threaded through the top, so out with the spool of crinkle wire. The police box and propellors were outlined in glossy accents - it comes with such a controllable fine nozzle, whereas tar gel I'm drizzling off a kebeb skewer.

" Then it was out with the tar gel, to imply water dripping off the corpse as it was lifted up by the police chopper. The trick is to start at the bottom and drizzle it upwards, to show the water trailing out from the body. Into the tar gel I sprinkled watch parts, especially those teeny tiny parts that can be so hard to use up!. On top of that I sprinkled white glitter. When it was dry, I shook off the excess. The cable winching it into the sky is a length of crinkle wire - again hinting at the steampunk theme."

Main Supplies:
Giger digi stamp: http://www.ikesart.com/#!__digital-art-stamps
Whimsical flying police box http://www.vlvstamps.com/index.php/whimsical-flying-police-box-2-1-2-x-2-1-2.html
Zig zag Krausbouillion 28g crinkle wire, and watch parts are from http://www.silvercrowcreations.com/
Skull background stamp: a Rick St Denis image vulcanized by Smeared Ink on their Morte plate.

Now you have the "rest of the story"!

More of Ike's fabulous art coming on the 22nd and the 27th of this month!!  And a surprise posting by No Good CT Nan with a wicked cool new image that Ike has put in the store very recently!!  Muwahahahaha! Leaving you with 3 more teasers!!

And Evil Froggy is getting very very upset and horrid....as you know we are searching for our last post's writer....he has hidden her somewhere!  Oh the horrors she might be facing!  Get your entry into Evil Froggy and, fingers crossed, we can get her back in time for August! You wouldn't want to miss her awesome make now would you?  We are counting on you to help us! Leaving the light off but HAVE removed that errrr.....thingy...yes, thingy from under the floor board so no worries there!  We can hear her faintly calling...hurry!

EEKKKK!

Now It IS Time for Our 3rd Challenge for July at Dream in Darkness

Thanks to all of you for making this possible for Dream in Darkness!  We are starting our 3rd challenge right now!  As always the theme is anything goes as long as you stick to the dark theme of the challenge.  Our marvelous sponsor is Ike's Art and we all have been given an image to work with this month and fun was had by all believe me!

And now a another first for the Dream in Darkness Challenge, we have our first ever Guest Creative Team Member!  Welcome Wendy and we are soooo glad to have you in our lovely, creepy home!  Here is Wendy, our May winner, with her fabulous make using Ike's Art's "Skelly Cup" image!

"Hi, my name is Wendy. I have always loved playing with paper. As a child, I would spend hours with my crayons, paper and scissors. The only difference now, is that my supplies include rubber and digital stamps, die cut machines and the computer plays a big part in my crafting. Paper crafting is my stress relief! I would like to thank the Dream in Darkness Team for inviting me to be a guest designer this month."

Fabulous make, Wendy!!  Thanks for inspiring us and those who may want to be a Creative Team Guest Member themselves!

using "Angels and Demons"

An altered book make into a shadowbox using DecoArt's media sampler kit. The insides contain fire elements from Mischief Circus' Light My Fire kit and the contents of the shadow box are a skelly, a cupid, some cash, and mini people from SilverCrowCreations.  The mirror is cut from a package insert that was super shiny! and a bead made by CT Kim.  The skull head is made from air dry clay from a mold I made and the portion of the gargoyle is polymer clay stamped with the stamp from the Smeared Ink rubber set called "Gargoyles".  Words on front and inside cover are by Tim Holtz's idea-ology Chitchat pad.

with "Falling Apart" using Ike's Goblin image

using "Poe Cat" from Ike's Art
