Anyone in the Mood for a Little Poe?

CT Nan coming at ya with some flashbacks from the Master....Poe that is!  Would it be the 31 days of Halloween without any of the dear Master's inspirations??  Not for me!  So I have used a fabulous digital element from Foxeysquirrel called "The Curse Splats"  that embodies several of Poe's masterpieces and it conveys the horror he could so masterfully portray with normal mundane words but so artfully put together as to scare one witless!  And with that I give you my "Ode to Poe"...

We bow humbly before thee, our dear departed Poe!  You know the drill so hop on off to the next name on the list to the right? or left? or under that floor board with that tiny crack??  Oh my, what fun it is to put suggestions in our minds!  Before signing off I will once again ask you to note this lovely pink hue and yes, darling, that is CT Anne wailing in the background but don't worry.  She is being kept....ahem...heavily sedated to help her through this trying time.  So don't worry those pretty heads one bit!  WE wouldn't lie to you, now would we????? Muwahahahahaha!

Addicted to Death

Addictions grab people in terrible ways, so here's a more sombre take on getting "spooked" to death today.   The Paper Whimsy Steampunk Queen kit, with one of the faces from their collage sheets, and articulate-able arms features today.  The body and cage were "painted" with Lava Gel tinted with my favourite rust-paint colour.  Because the face stamp on the other side  is larger than this, I had the opportunity to give her some hair - texture paste painted brownish
Whether it's P, or PMT  a woman can turn into a bone-breaking raging hulk!  And with red-coloured tar gel as blood dripping from her arms, was she driven so such lengths? Is that barbed wire below, what she used, or some more sinister needle? Or do we "blame" a man? Steampunk man of course.

Further down, it's not crabs getting at her, but a skull-backed spider inside her.  The skull was resin cast in a mold with a bit of light blue put in before the resin.  Then glued to a spider.  And if you've missed finding any in the halloween shop-stock, try Silver Crow Creations (also for cockroaches and other insects)
Here's the other side of her - not any nicer!  She'll never make old bones, nor see the backside of 20 - those pills will be the death of her.

The Gibson Girl face stamp ( Lost Coast Designs) is larger than the collage face on the other side, so it dictated how much hair I could add on the other side. Things To Alter have a great variation of a hooded skull, which backs on to their steampunk man on the other side. They also do the barbed wire hanging down over the spider.  Most of what you can see added on are from Silver Crow Creations - the dresden spider web, hooded skullbead, wee metal bones, pill capsules, tiny posed lady...
So please take good care of yourselves, don't let yourself be Tricked into a downward, destructive spiral.  Instead Treat Evil Froggy by expressing and sharing the dark side in your art here
And then move on... to the next link in  this 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop.

To backtrack to those Trick or Treat stuffies a few days ago, Val at Third Stone Stamps is still putting everything back in her new web site, so let her know you want the kids.

Day 7 31 DOH~Lady Catrina in the Flesh...Oops No Flesh!

Welcome Back for Day 7 of 31 Days of Halloween!

Today we want to announce the Winner of our September Challenge, too! Special thanks to all of our amazing players last month! We really loved seeing new faces and so many cool projects! Huge thanks to Karen of Lunagirl Vintage images for sponsoring us and giving us great images to create with!!

Our Winner is.....#15 RORA with the fantastic altered Halloween Frame!
Please email us at dreamindarknessblog@gmail.com for your badge & prize info.
CONGRATZZ!!

Now it is CT Nan's turn to play...

I saw a neat Youtube video on the making of the Lady Catrina.  I got really messy with this one after making a wire armature for her body a lot of newspaper and modeling paste from Grumbacher made her rough spots smoother.  Maybe I should try it on my rough spots?? Hmmmm...maybe for a later in the month reveal :)

She knows how to strut her stuff!

And those close ups are a must have in her portfolio!

Look at that rock on her hand!  Maybe given by the donor of the rib cage?  Must be love of the eternal kind :)

Her head is a Dylusions skull stamp in air dry clay with Gelatos smushed around on it. The rib cage that her stylish dress is revealing came from an awesome and willing male skellie who just was dying to give it to her.  Unfortunately, she had lost hers at a really great party!  Good time but lost bones...ying/yang perhaps?

Thanks for visiting us and don't forget our challenge is still going on this month with our usual theme of  "Anything Goes" and any medium is welcome!  And we also thank you for the comments, they keep Evil Froggy smirking and prevents him from eating things that shouldn't be in his diet like US!

We hate to rush you off but things are quiet hectic with this pink issue and CT Anne so we just have to shut the door and off you go to leave some ghoulish love to the next stop!
